Gillette Stadium - October 4, 2020
Gillette Stadium - October 4, 2020
Climb the lower bowl at Gillette Stadium to support our veterans. All net proceeds raised will go toward building specially adapted homes for our severely injured post 9/11 veterans.
Dear S4RT Supporters,
We hope you are safe and healthy. We are writing to inform you of the difficult decision to cancel S4RT2020 - Gillette Stadium scheduled for October 4, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stairs4RTroops’ first event was on October 4, 2015, so the upcoming event would have marked the fifth anniversary, a milestone to celebrate. Unfortunately, the global health crisis continues to evolve forcing all of us to adjust our expectations and shift focus during this challenging time. Gillette Stadium, is no longer hosting private events, and Team S4RT feels it is important that we do our part in keeping people safe and curbing the spread of COVID-19 by not hosting a large event that could further spread the virus.
The goal is to be back at Gillette Stadium next spring, and the hope is to announce a date early next year. Since Gillette is unable to provide a date today, we have decided to cancel S4RT 2020 as opposed to another postponement.
If you have already purchased tickets or made donations, you will be receiving an email detailing how to move forward. Registrants in S4RT 2020 will have the option to receive a refund or donate the participant fee and / or donation.
Despite the pandemic, Homes For Our Troops continues to build and donate specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for our most severely injured post-9/11 veterans. This past weekend, Homes For Our Troops presented Marine SSgt Liam Dwyer and his wife, Meghan, with the keys to their specially adapted custom home in Lake Worth, FL. Liam says receiving a specially adapted custom home enables Meghan and him to pursue their dreams. “The possibilities are endless in this new home,” he says. As you may remember, Liam and Meghan came to our stair climb last year. We hope we can still make a donation despite canceling our event.
As always, we appreciate your continued support. We hope you and your loved ones are safe, and we look forward to seeing you in 2021!
